D'Tigress advance in the World Cup playoffs; Nigerians react, begs NBBF to avoid Presidential calls..

The Nigerian Womens Senior Basketball Team, D'Tigress, in a dramatic finish last night, have advanced in the World Cup playoffs with a game in hand. The team led by Macaulay put up a surprising comeback in the game, to beat France in a 67-65 full quarter score line.

France led as much as 6-0 up in the first minute of play against D’Tigress on Friday. Marine Johannes made a three-pointer shot within 30 seconds, and after two minutes with the French team up by 11 points to Nil, D'Tigress Head Coach, Otis Hughley called a timeout due to much turnovers and mistakes from his side.

Getting back to the game, Elonu and Macaulay did put up a combined effort to get the ladies back on track. The game would go on to end 28-11 in favour of the French side. Into the Second quarter, D’Tigress came bossing back in business with a 16-10 win, as they cut the deficit to 11. They produced yet another dominant display in the third quarter, which they further whittled down the lead to just four points at the start of the fourth quarter.

Macaulay would go on to seal the victory for D'Tigress, with a three point-play with 59 seconds left on the clock. This comes after the D'Tigress team lost its opening match against China earlier on, with a 14 points deficit in the game, as full quater scores ended 90-74 in favour of the Chinese.

With one leg into the Australia 2022, the Nation has been thrown into streams of Joy.. While everyone congratulates and  felicitates with team D'Tigress, others have taken it upon themselves to sound notes of warnings across different social media platforms to the NBBF, advising the organisation not to partake in any call(s) coming from the Nigerian Presidency. Below are some of the funny conversations culled from @Sports Radio Brilla fm's social media post on Facebook.

Funny notes of warnings, but we all know the Presidency always means well for the team.  Securing this win and one more game left to play, D'Tigress Head Coach, Otis Hughley believes his side can pull through.

So Congratulations to team D'Tigress, as they go on to play Mali next.
